My take on the Oscars (and Razzies for that...
Hitchcock never won Best Director. Neither has Stanley Kubrick, nor David Lynch. David Cronenberg hasn’t been nominated. Jeremy Irons did not get nominated for best actor for “Dead Ringers”, and Denzel Washington’s portrayal of Malcolm X, lost to Al Pacino’s banal, crotchety blind man turn in “Scent of a Woman”. “Do the Right Thing” was the...
A Recollection: THREE IN THE MORNING
THREE IN THE MORNING, along with TROJANS, I’m convinced, are my two best, most realized projects to date.
For THREE IN THE MORNING, I really wanted to challenge the notion of a sex scene being something that is bereft of any real cinematic value. A lot of the times when you look at a sex scene in a film, you wonder if it was really necessary. When I brought myself to challenge this notion,...

Thoughts on a Saturday Night
I watched the remake of SISTERS late last night. Doesn’t even come close to the DePalma version. In fact, the remake took the predictable road that the original smartly avoided. I would hate to ruin it for anyone, but suffice it to say, it just didn’t work for me.
I’m a bit amazed at my memory recall of a movie that I never really cared about back in the ’80s, and yet when...
HAPPY 2/24/11: Wasp of choice
Cuckoo Wasp.
HAPPY 2/23/11
Sick as a dog today. Still learning on the Nikon.
HAPPY: Weapon of Choice.
Finally got the Nikon D3100 (comes with a 18-55mm lens), along with an extra lens (55-200). After much scouting and consideration, I am convinced it is the right camera for the project. It will be used for both still photography and for filming.
Very excited to learn the ins and outs of it.

HAPPY 2/18/11
Seems like forever, but the script is done, and things should be ready to roll pretty soon. I feel pretty good about this one, and while it is quite different from INSECT, it is no less an idea which I feel is worth a metaphorical cinematic roll in the hay. If this was to be the last thing I ever shot, I would be fine with it.
Now on to props, costumes, and a Nikon.
New script
Working on the outline for HAPPY.
Insects, yes.
Sex, no.
A new world awaits…
INSECT ON HOLD
Due to extenuating circumstances, I am putting INSECT on hold. Perhaps I’ll have a chance to shoot it later down the line, but I’ve learned a few things along the way, which I think will be of some value to me in future projects.
I would like to thank those who were committed to INSECT…it could have been a beautiful thing indeed, and will be something to behold in the future.

Chlorophyll in the Dark
Well, it’s been about six weeks since I busted my ankle, and now I’m due back to work soon…really enjoyed the time off, and it’s hard for me right now to get into that frame of mind of being a corporate automaton again. I hope to go back with a different outlook, not to invest anymore than my responsibility into the daily grind, all the while preserving sanity. It’s a...
